About this site and how the grid is checked

Who publishes Magic Mushrooms EU, how each grid cell is sourced and dated, what "unverified" means, and why product links go to Avalon Magic Plants.

Magic Mushrooms EU is published by the team behind Avalon Magic Plants, a Dutch smartshop. The product links on this site go to that shop, and when you buy through such a link, the shop earns from the sale. We say this first because it matters for how you read the rest.

The site exists for one question that most pages online answer badly: what does the law say about magic mushrooms, magic truffles, spores and grow kits in each European country, and how sure can you be. Most answers are lists without sources, or copy each other. We wanted one grid where every cell can be traced to the text it comes from.

How a cell is filled

  • Sources: national legislation databases and official gazettes first, then courts, ministries and public drug information services such as the Trimbos Institute and the EUDA (the EU drugs agency, formerly the EMCDDA). No shops, forums or listicles.
  • One status per cell: legal, prohibited, decriminalised, depends, or unverified. The short note says why, and the source line gives the document and the date we read it.
  • Unverified means unverified. If we could not find a law text, ruling or public body that settles a cell, we say so instead of guessing. Spores and grow kits are often in this state, because few laws mention them.
  • Truffles: most laws ban psilocybin as a substance and do not name truffles. Where a law covers psilocybin in any material, the truffle cell says prohibited and the note explains that it follows from the substance ban.

What the site does not do

  • It is not legal advice. Laws change, prosecutors apply them differently, and a status in a grid cannot cover every situation.
  • It does not tell anyone to buy, carry, grow or import anything where that is an offence. The only products on the site are fresh truffles for a stay in the Netherlands.
  • It makes no medical or health claims of any kind.
  • It contains no invented experiences, reviews or testimonials.

Dates

The date in the bar at the top is the last full check of the grid. Each cell carries its own check date in the source line, and each sheet shows when its text was last updated. If you find a cell that is out of date or wrong, the customer service of Avalon Magic Plants can pass it on to us.

Who is behind the shop

The Avalon Magic Plants mascot, a smiling cactus

Avalon Magic Plants is a smartshop in the Netherlands that sells magic truffles, plants and seeds and serves customers in five languages. It sells only to adults. The cactus above is its mascot.
